Weekly School Bulletin October 20, 2018

Good Afternoon Edgewood IB Families, 

We are on an A week.  Wednesday is a minimum day and students are released at 12:48 pm, it is also PSAT day while all 12th graders attend senior workshops beginning at 8 am, please be sure all students are on campus no later than 7:30 am.  Wednesday evening we are hosting our our Parent Conference Event begins at 4:30 for middle school and 5:30 for high school.  Schedules have been sent home and is available on the link, please plan ahead of time so that you are able to see the teachers you interested in speaking with.  To schedule a separate parent/teacher conference, I highly encourage contacting the teacher directly.  Save the date for the Fall Festival on & Students will be permitted to wear a costume on Halloween, we ask parents to assist students in following the costume guidelines.

Counseling and College Corner:
We sent out at risk letters to all high school students based on progress report grades and will be conducting these meetings over the next three weeks. We have invited parents to join us for these meetings. This Wednesday, October 10th we will be having a Cal State App workshop in the college and career center from 2-3. 
PSAT day is on October 24th. Seniors will be divided into 4 groups and will be attending college related workshops. 6th and 7th graders will be going through a career-interest workshop, anti bullying presentation, cyber-safety discussions and field day activities.                             
The financial aid application is now open to all seniors attending college in the Fall of 2019. The College Adviser, Ms. Bernal, is assisting students and parents complete the FAFSA or CA Dream Act.  Application Lab for CSU/UC/Private Colleges/Common Ap

Halloween Guidelines
Students will be allowed to wear costumes to school on Tuesday, October 31 in observance of Halloween.  However, there are some restrictions on the costumes that are allowed on campus. We have asked parents to assist us with these items below and please remind the students about these specific guidelines.
•  No inappropriately suggestive or revealing attire
•  No masks
•  No costumes depicting excessive violence
•  No weapons or replica weapons
•  No bulky costumes that would prohibit normal participation in class activities
•  No costumes that glamorize illegal activity
