Weekly School Bulletin October 6, 2018

 

Good Afternoon Edgewood IB Families,
 

We are on a B week.  We welcome the WASC Accreditation Visiting Committee to Edgewood for their 2-day visit.  Monday Driver’s ed begins at 7:15 am. Tuesday, Middle School PTSA Meeting is being held at 4 pm. Wednesday we are hosting a Edgewood Tour at 9:30 am and at 2 pm counselors are hosting CSU application workshop. Thursday we are hosting Outsiders day and High School PTSA Meeting is being held at 4:30 pm.  Lastly, save the date for our Great Shakeout Drill on October 18 and on Wednesday, October 24 we are hosting PSAT day & Senior workshops beginning at 8 am and our Parent Conference Event begins at 4:30 for middle school and 5:30 for high school.  To schedule a separate parent/teacher conference, I highly encourage contacting the teacher directly.

Counseling and College Corner:

We sent out at risk letters to all high school students based on progress report grades and will be conducting these meetings over the next three weeks. We have invited parents to join us for these meetings. This Wednesday, October 10th we will be having a Cal State App workshop in the college and career center from 2-3.

We are getting ready for the PSAT day on October 24th. Seniors will be divided into 4 groups and will be attending college related workshops. 6th and 7th graders will be going through a career-interest workshop, anti bullying presentation, cyber-safety discussions and field day activities.

PSAT NMSQT

The PSAT/NMSQT is on Wednesday, October 24th.  Students in grades 8-11 will participate in the PSAT.  6th, 7th, and 12th grade students will be on a special schedule (see reverse).  

PSAT Testing Schedule for Grades 8-11

Students report to testing rooms

8:00 AM to 8:45 AM

Time used for general instructions and to bubble in demographics

Nutrition (Testers Only)

8:45 AM to 8:55 AM

10 minutes

Reading Test

8:55 AM to 10:00 AM

(60 minutes for testing, 5 minutes for directions)
