Weekly 9/1

Weekly School Bulletin September 1, 2018

Good Afternoon Edgewood IB Families,

Monday is a holiday and we are on a A week.  This Wednesday is a minimum day, students are released at 12:48 pm as we will be hosting our Back to School Night Event with food trucks at 4:30, meetings and schoolloop training beginning at 5 pm with principal’s message and performances that begins at 6 pm in the gym.  Thank you for having students on campus in the morning by 7:30 this has helped out with the morning traffic and punctuality. Lastly, save the date September 26 for our Annual District College Fair for middle and high school students and families.

This information is also available on our websites. Have a great weekend, from Edgewood the Pride of West Covina.

College Corner:

College application season is upon us! Over the next 2-3 weeks I will be conducting one-on-ones with seniors. Students will be summoned from an elective or right before a free period to check A-G eligibility and have a brief conversation about postsecondary plans. Meetings should take no longer than 10 minutes. In hopes of increasing our 4-year numbers, I will be reaching out to the academic middle first. If you know of a student who would like to speak to me, feel free to email me  gbernal@wcusd.org.

Upcoming College and Career Center Workshops:

Tues, Sept 4th: Building A College List

Fri, Sept 7th: Today is the deadline to register for the October SAT!! The College Center will be open to students to come in and register during lunch and after school.
